Best Overland Suspension? Dobinsons MRR VS OME BP-51
@DobinsonsSuspension Dobinsons MRRs and @ARB4x4Accessories OME BP-51s are by far and away our favorite high end dampers designed for how most people are using their vehicles. Rather than be optimized for all out high speed off road performance like many of their similarly priced competitors, these shocks are designed for maximum comfort and stability at more moderate speeds out on the trail and on your daily commute. Whether you are riding light or loaded, both options have you covered with plenty of support, stability, and plush sensibilities. There is no real winner here but there is probably a better option for your needs, so kick back, relax, and follow along to see which of these cushy riding heavy weights is right for you.

OME Shocks: Preload and Height Settings Explained
Переглядів 9 тис.14 днів тому
The all new @ARB4x4Accessories MT64 shocks are now out and their longtime entry level shock, the Nitrocharger, received a recent refresh and is now known as the Nitrocharger Plus. Both of these use a slightly different method for setting preload and dialing in the right height for your vehicle, but it can be a bit confusing as to how they work and where you should set them up for your rig. www.shocksurplus.com/blogs/news/old-man-emu-mt64-shocks-how-the-new-2-8-shock-stacks-up We have been saying the @bilsteinUS 6112s are not only one of the best values in aftermarket suspension but are also the sweet spot for most enthusiasts. They offer 2.6” body performance for 2.0 money, last an incredibly long time, and although they do make some compromises to keep the cost as low as it is, ...

I should have ordered from yinz. Place sent me wrong springs and didn't realize until after putting on one. Would it be dumb to use the adjustments on the nitrocharger with stock springs to get some height until I get the springs I ordered (2887) they sent me 4000s. Will have to get 2 alignments anyways I just want some lift and should only be a cpl weeks knowing how that company ships items....

For the Tacomas the Ranchos are $178 each which is nice, whereas the Bilstein 6112 are $900 a pair!!!

I went with the BP51'S because in the MMR's were more expensive and setting up the spring rates on the site was confusing. I knew pretty much all the cons of the BP51'S but so far they're running pretty good. I personally work on my own vehicles and enjoy doing so I'll deal with cons later and hopefully I get some good mileage out of them. Great vid as usual from shock surplus

Very good channel, thanks for all the information you share. I have a 2023 Suzuki Jimny, at the moment the stock suspension, I am thinking of changing the suspension, which one could you recommend? I am between an OME and a Blinstein, the purpose is to raise the car a little, the use is 50% city, 50% off road and sand. Thank you very much for your help, greetings from Peru.

Have a set of Eibach struts/shocks for all 4 corners on my 2010 chevy Tahoe Z71 that is currently all OEM, but with only 73k miles. I am pairing it with the stiffer than OEM Eibach rear sway bar to tighten up the body roll even more! If needed I'll upgrade the front sway bar as well, but I doubt I'll need too.

fox are not kush, they don't have the valving and shims for offroad. you need to get them done by drilling out the piston for the shims to work right. You see more 2.0 fox on resale than you do king, sway a way, icon, FOA, bilstein so on. They're mall crawlers at best, they're better than a clapped out OEM but nothing to the others you mentioned. Please... go on market place all you see are fox 2.0 all day every day

Ill cut the bullsh%$. I have owned all of these shocks on my Tacoma and will tell you the best ones for the money are the Rancho 9000xl. Let me tell you why. Adjust-ability and build quality. I have never had a problem with these shocks although you will see many bad reviews from company employees trying to get people to buy their products. Save some money and just dial in your favorite settings in front and back.

I've got kings.. I love them.. however having them since 2019.. they now require a rebuild.. Also, living in Washington state.. the moisture has caused them to start squeaking really bad.. particularly at the bottom of the Hiem joint.. which I now have to lube up every few days when it's dry out.. also the total chaos uppers the suspension came with.. rusted out badly.. so I had to switch them out with some spc brand uppers. Overall the kings ride really nice on the street..Even in their current state and do an awesome job offroad.. I have a Mercedes suv..which handles like a sports car.. my kings handle corners just as good as my Mercedes..

So i live in the UAE and we do a lot of dune bashing out here. I have a 2 dr Outer Banks with the Hitachi shocks, and 33s. The Hitachis have performed well dont get me wrong, but I know my limits and how crazy i can go. Ive been thinking about the Eibachs for sometime but the 5100s seem like a good shout as well, especially that im planning on getting 35s. Do you think getting the 5100s on 35s with a 2 inch lift is worth it? especially because the car is my daily as well. Would 2 inches be the ideal height and would i also need UCAs?

  • @dee151

I have narrowed down my shock selection for my tacoma to this two options, so I'm glad this video came out, I am leaning towards the dobinsons because they seem to offer better flex as compared to the OMEs, and I'm trying to maximize flex (without having to weld or cut anything of my truck), but boy I want the OMEs
